Dog expert names 5 most challenging breeds: which breeds disrupt household.
According to ТСН: A dog expert with nearly 30 years of experience talked about five dog breeds that can pose a serious challenge for their owners. These are not about aggressive or 'bad' animals, but rather breeds that require more effort in training, discipline, and care.
According to dog behavior specialist Casey Ray, the reality of living with a pet often differs from the idealized perceptions on social media. Some breeds are difficult to train, require constant physical and mental activity, or may have health problems that new owners do not always consider.
Casey Ray emphasized that the difficulty is not in the natural aggression of the dogs but in the fact that without experience and a clear approach to raising them, these breeds can create challenges for families, especially in homes where consistency in training is not maintained.
Problematic breeds
- Dachshunds. Although Ray himself lived with a dachshund and Chihuahua mix, he considers this breed to be challenging. Dachshunds can be stubborn, overly barky and have a strong hunting instinct. Members of this breed often suffer from back problems and may show aggression without proper socialization.
- Terriers. They are extremely smart and energetic, but also hyperactive and reactive, making it difficult to control their behavior.
- Bull Terriers. The combination of strength and stubbornness makes them energetic, and without physical activity, they can become destructive. Some members of the breed may also have health problems.
- Miniature Pinschers. Despite their small size, these dogs are known for their loud behavior and complex character. They may not be suitable for families with children or for beginners in dog ownership.
- Chow Chow. This breed can be considered the most challenging. Ray notes that their body language is difficult to interpret, and some dogs may exhibit aggression. Owners must have a good understanding of the breed's needs and pay attention to their psychological and physical condition.
The dog expert concluded that all these breeds can be trained, but they require more time, consistency, and attention. He advises potential owners to objectively assess their abilities and be prepared for challenges before getting a dog.
It should be noted that in winter, dogs face risks that many owners may not notice. A veterinarian advised five measures to protect pets in the cold season.
