New premium Chinese brand in the UK automotive market

According to The Sun: A large premium Chinese car manufacturer plans to debut in the UK market at the beginning of next year. The company will offer models that can compete with the most well-known European brands.

In 2026, the launch of three completely new cars is planned, which are being developed specifically to compete against well-known European brands.

Among the new models is Z9GT — a wagon with a power of about 1000 hp, which intends to compete with Porsche Panamera.

Next is D9 — a luxury family minivan that will become a competitor to Lexus LM.

Also, B5 will be presented, a powerful SUV designed as an alternative to Land Rover Defender and Toyota Land Cruiser.

The launch of the new cars is initiated by the Chinese company Denza, a sister brand of BYD.

Technology of the new models

The B5 model will run on a hybrid system that combines a 1.5-liter turbo engine with electric motors on both axles, with a total power of 677 hp.

Even despite its weight of three tons, the car will be able to travel up to 50 miles exclusively on electric energy.

The head of Denza in the UK, Bono Ge, said in an interview with Auto Express that the company aims to surpass well-known premium brands such as Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover, and Porsche.

“We want to surpass the well-known brands,” said Ge.

He also emphasized: 'We plan to create a network of ultra-fast charging stations available to all drivers.'

“Although minivans are not a large market segment in the UK, we are seeing growing interest in them,” he added.

Earlier this year, it was reported that BYD is preparing a budget hatchback called Dolphin Surf, which will compete with brands such as Dacia and Fiat.

BYD has an ambitious goal — to become a leading player in the global automotive market and position itself as the largest car manufacturer in the world.

The successful entry of Denza into the UK market could significantly change the balance of power in the premium segment of the automotive industry. With an active pursuit of innovation and high technology, the new models may attract consumers' attention and offer them an alternative to familiar brands. An open attitude towards innovations could be a driving force for the further popularization of electric cars in the European market.
