GHOSTED, love-bombed or wondering why dating feels like a full-time job?
According to The Sun: Well, you’re not alone!
Exploring the World of Dating
In Fabulous’s brand new vodcast – Date. Delete. Repeat. – Danni Menzies and Alex Serruys are sharing and exploring the highs, lows and everything in between when it comes to finding love.
Every week, the ladies will sit down and reveal what they’ve got up to, as they swipe, flirt and flail through the chaos that is dating. The very first episode dives into dating standards, saucy nicknames and unsolicited d*** pics. Buckle up!
Danni Menzies, 36, TV Presenter
You’ll recognise Danni from her previous hosting on A Place In The Sun. When she’s not helping property owners find their dream home, she’s on the lookout for love. “I’m a real romantic. I want love and I want romance in my life,” she says. Filming abroad can affect a relationship, and Danni is hoping to find someone who can go on adventures with her. She acknowledges that it's 'very hard to find' someone like that. “I’m also very picky,” she adds. “And I had a habit of dating narcissistic guys who had Peter Pan syndrome – they let me down and made me question myself. Now I‘m more confident and feel better in my own skin, I’m very much about who the person is and how they make me feel. I’m currently dating someone I used to work with, but that comes with complications. Thankfully, he’s pretty chill and he doesn’t mind me spilling the tea on him.”
Danni has also been extremely open and honest about her journey with fertility and egg freezing – documenting it all on her Instagram.
Alex Serruys, 32, Content Creator
Alex describes her dating life as “complete chaos”. “I’ve had flings with females, but not a serious, intense relationship – I tend to end up with men. I think because they’re more dominating, which I’m drawn to, though the bedroom is the only place I would allow a man to dominate!” she says. “I’ve been engaged twice. The second time was a s**tshow, as we were only doing it to move to Spain. But we didn’t get married, we didn’t move to Spain, and we broke up one month later!” Alex also co-parents a French bulldog called Mikko, with a man she met when she was “quite wild in her 20s”. “In the five years we were together, he showed me a different side to life and I calmed down and found my feet. However, that made me grow – and we grew apart,” she admits. Alex, like the majority of women wants the fairy tale and is determined to find the one with who she can have children with. But becoming a mother will bring its own set of challenges: “I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), so when do I let my date know that getting pregnant could be a struggle? Do I drop it into conversation on date one or three months in? I’ll definitely be chatting about these kind of topics on our vodcast.”
Alex describes her conversation style as “upfront and direct” which she thinks “can scare people”. She’s also from an extremely open family where they discuss her one night stands. And no topic’s off limits for her – “I’ll be opening up about everything from my sex life to masturbation – and I won’t be holding back.”
