Ukrainian and Swedish defense companies will sign a cooperation agreement.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhii Boiev met with Johan Axelsson, Director of the Testing and Evaluation Authority of the Swedish Government Agency FMV.
Boiev emphasized that regular visits of the delegation from Sweden are a good sign in the development of cooperation and partnership between the countries. They agreed to create a bilateral agreement to support joint projects in the defense industry and discussed priority products that will be produced.
'Of course, air defense and ammunition remain priorities for Ukraine. There is a special need for the development of long-range combat capability,' noted Boiev.
Axelsson reported that a positive decision from the Swedish government is expected regarding the provision of a new military aid package to Ukraine, which will be the largest since the beginning of the Russian invasion. He also mentioned plans to invest in Ukrainian military production to enhance long-range combat capacity.
Ukraine and Sweden also agreed on the details of the implementation of contracts for the production of Swedish combat vehicles CV-90. A partnership for the maintenance and repair of these armored vehicles in Ukraine is planned.
They also discussed the provision of reliable communication on the battlefield for the operations of the Armed Forces. Sweden already has effective satellite communication means.
