How to Fertilize Beds in Autumn: Three Best Fertilizers for a Rich Harvest

After harvesting, the soil requires additional nutrients to prepare for future sowing. Gardeners share tips on which fertilizers are best to use in autumn for the vegetable garden.

Fertilizers for Soil in Autumn

Kalimagnesia

Kalimagnesia contains potassium, which is necessary for regulating the water balance of plants, and magnesium, which is essential for supporting the photosynthesis of thriving crops. This fertilizer acts over a long period and is slowly absorbed into the soil, providing plants with beneficial substances for up to 10 months. The recommended dosage of kalimagnesia is two kilograms for every one and a half hundred square meters of the plot.

Superphosphate

Superphosphate is a traditional autumn fertilizer with a long-lasting effect that has been used in gardens for many years. To nourish the soil, it is sufficient to use two kilograms of superphosphate.

Ammonium Sulfate

This type of fertilizer provides nitrogen and sulfur in the form of ions, so it is also recommended to use it in an amount of two kilograms.

Proper Way to Fertilize the Garden in Autumn
