Olena Topolia explained how children cope with the divorce from Taras Topolia.

According to ТСН: Ukrainian singer Olena Topolia shared how she and her ex-husband, the leader of the band 'Antytila' Taras Topolia, told their children about their divorce.

The couple is raising two sons, Roman and Mark, and a daughter, Mariika. In an interview, Olena stated that Taras independently informed the children about their divorce. The singer noted that her husband chose the appropriate moment for this difficult conversation. The daughter is still too young to understand the situation, while the sons are already aware of what is happening, especially the elder one. The artist emphasized that she will do everything possible to ensure that the children do not carry their experience of divorce into the future.

“The boys understand more and are going through this. I found out from the children that dad told them about the divorce. There must have been some convenient moment. They are coping. I am more concerned about Roma, as he is processing this more consciously. I wouldn’t want them to carry this experience into their future lives,” - says the singer.

Olena also stressed that the children will always be the most important to them, and the former couple strives to do everything possible to make this separation easier for them. In terms of custody, they adhere to a free format. The singer also reported that they will all go on a trip together.

“Of course, the father remains in the children’s lives. No one, no one restricts anybody in anything. By no means! I wouldn’t want that. We have a very free format. The children are absolutely free in their choices and desires. We are only 'for' them to spend as much time as possible with both parents. Soon we will go on vacation all together,” - shared the singer.

As a reminder, earlier Olena Topolia confessed whether she would change her last name after the divorce. Currently, she uses it not only in everyday life but also on stage.
