Olympics: Organizers Accused Ukrainian Athlete of Spreading Propaganda.
Ukrainian rower Anastasia Rybachok was forced to paint over the phrase "I am Ukrainian" on her boat due to accusations of propaganda. This was reported by BGV Group company.
It is noted that the boat design itself had a symbolic meaning for the athlete, and the phrase "I am Ukrainian" was important for the entire team. Anastasia Rybachok independently developed the design of the boat, embedding in it the meaning of Ukrainian self-identity and resilience.
However, the International Olympic Committee prohibits the placement of any inscriptions related to war on boats.
Anastasia Rybachok explained that the phrase "I am Ukrainian" has a different meaning, as it indicates her belonging to Ukraine and symbolizes her faith in herself and her capabilities.
The company promised that the phrase "I am Ukrainian" and the unique design will be restored after Anastasia's return.
Anastasia Rybachok, silver Olympic champion of 2020, is competing at the Paris Olympics in the categories of two-person canoe at 500 meters and single-occupant canoe at 200 meters. She has already successfully started competing at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris along with Lyudmila Luzan in the 500-meter two-person canoe event. Rybachok's next start is scheduled for August 8 in the single-occupant canoe event.
Also, an unusual situation occurred at the Paris Olympics when a huge whale appeared during the surfers' competition in Tahiti.
