Olympiad: How Much Ukraine Will Pay for 'Gold' at the Summer Games.
According to a ranking compiled by American Forbes, Ukraine ranks 11th among 15 countries that offer the highest payouts to gold medalists in individual sports at the Olympic Games in Paris.
In particular, Hong Kong athletes will receive $768,000 for 'gold,' while Israeli athletes will get $275,000. In third place is Serbia with a payout of $218,000.
In many countries, the cash prize is only part of the reward. The USA, in addition to $37,500 for 'gold,' provides athletes with grants and certain benefits. Malaysia and Bulgaria, in particular, will pay a monthly allowance of over $1,000 for life.
It is also worth noting that medalists from Poland additionally receive paintings from Polish artists, investment diamonds, and vacation vouchers. In addition, gold medalists receive apartments in Warsaw.
At the last Olympic Games in Tokyo, Ukrainian athletes won 20 medals, but only one of them was gold. This victory was achieved in men's Greco-Roman wrestling.
