Olympic champion from Turkey to patent his 'signature' shooting stance.
Olympic champion from Turkey Yusuf Dikec has claimed his rights to his own stance, which has become popular around the world and has been imitated. The athlete's stance while shooting a pistol with one hand in his pocket went viral and appeared in many memes. Yusuf Dikec took steps to protect his commercial rights and registered a patent for this stance. His coach reported that the application was submitted after attempts by others to register the stance without Dikec's permission were discovered.
This stance has become very popular, and images of Dikec with it have appeared on many products sold worldwide, such as T-shirts, mugs, and phone cases. A video of the athlete's performance also gained popularity on social networks.
The athlete himself explained that he uses this stance for greater stability of his body and maintaining balance while shooting. In his Olympic performance, he used earplugs and vision glasses instead of headphones and anti-glare glasses, which helped him achieve high accuracy and win a silver medal.
