Spain is offering remote workers $16620 for moving and working in the Ambroz Valley, which is located just under three hours from Madrid. This is reported by FoxNews.

The program is aimed at attracting remote workers and preventing depopulation in rural areas. Two years is an appropriate term for receiving a grant of $16620, if workers commit to live and work there long-term.

Pritviraj Choudhury, a professor at Harvard Business School in Boston, explains that this program will change the place of residence of people and the distribution of talents.

The Ambroz Valley consists of mountains, green pastures, picturesque villages, and local cuisines. But the largest village, Hervás, has only 3907 inhabitants, and some municipalities have less than 200 residents.

Digital nomads contribute to the development of the local economy and distribution of talents. After the pandemic, they started to interact more actively with local communities.

In Chile, Madeira, and Italy, there are programs for digital nomads that offer various benefits in the form of visas and financial support.
