According to ТСН: Ozzie, a mixed breed of French mastiff, has become a real star for the Peek family in Oklahoma City, USA, thanks to his incredibly long tongue. His playful personality and habit of jumping like a kangaroo perfectly fit the cheerful atmosphere of the family, and now he has gained recognition in the Guinness World Records.

New Record

In 2025, Ozzie set the record for the longest tongue among living dogs, measuring 19.89 cm. One end of his tongue hangs out of his mouth, while the other allows him to catch toys and lick up food. This record surpassed the previous achievement of a dog named Rocky from Illinois, who had a tongue length of 12.7 cm, as well as records among humans: for women (Chanel Tapper — 9.75 cm) and men (Nick Stoberl — 10.1 cm).

Record Setting

Ozzie's owner, Angela Peek, shared that the family learned about the record during a routine visit to the veterinarian for a nail trim. The vets measured the dog’s tongue from the end of the snout to the tip and discovered its record length.

“He has always had a tongue that sticks out of his mouth since birth,” Angela explained.

According to Angela, Ozzie's health is perfectly fine — his teeth and overall condition have been checked multiple times.

Ozzie's Features

Despite his large tongue, Ozzie rarely uses it for kisses or cleaning up crumbs.

“He comes up to us and rubs his nose, showing love, but he doesn't lick a lot of things,” Angela laughs.
The mastiff prefers to play in the yard, ride in the car, and jump when excited.

Diet and Reaction of Others

Every day, Ozzie consumes approximately half a liter of high-energy dog food, which helps maintain his healthy weight and energy. His huge tongue constantly attracts the attention of passersby, bringing smiles to children and adults alike. Angela noted that their family is very happy that the world has learned about their pet's unique talent.

It is also important to remember that veterinarians have labeled a popular ingredient in holiday dishes as dangerous for dogs. This information can be helpful for all dog owners to avoid potential dangers for their beloved pets.
