Northern Lights over Ukraine: in which regions it was possible to see the rare phenomenon (photo).
In the evening of October 10, the aurora borealis was noticeable in Ukraine due to a powerful solar flare on October 8. This was reported by the forecasters from the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC).
Residents of various regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Odesa, were able to observe the rare phenomenon of the aurora borealis. They are sharing photos online.
A geomagnetic storm of class G4 caused the northern lights. According to forecasters, solar flares will continue until Sunday.
It is expected that Ukrainians will be able to observe this rare natural phenomenon again until the morning of October 13.

The brigade artillery group of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade "Azov" also showed the northern lights in the night sky over the Donetsk region. In the photo, soldiers pose against the backdrop of this rare phenomenon.

Recall that near the "Akademik Vernadsky" station, the southern aurora was also observed. This is the second time during the year that Ukrainian polar explorers have managed to capture this rare occurrence.
In addition, scientists at the "Akademik Vernadsky" station recorded a clear night sky in Antarctica, which allowed them to see the full Moon in all its glory.
