Why Vin Diesel Fell Out with The Rock

Vin Diesel has been one of the main faces of the 'Fast & Furious' franchise since the very first film released in 2001. His character, Dominic Toretto, has become iconic among genre lovers. However, with each new film, the series expanded, adding new characters and actors. This happened amidst the astonishing wave of the film's popularity. It has become so iconic that it no longer needed an introduction. 

In 2011, Dwayne Johnson joined the cast of the film 'Fast Five'. His character, agent Luke Hobbs, quickly gained popularity among viewers, bringing a new level of charisma and strength to the series. Fans were thrilled by the intense scenes between Hobbs and Toretto, but behind the scenes, the relationship between the actors was not so smooth.

And then, something went wrong 

The conflict between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson began during the filming of 'The Fate of the Furious' (2017). Rumor has it that Johnson was unhappy with Diesel's behavior on set. He hinted that some colleagues were behaving unprofessionally and did not respect the filming process. Later, it became known that these words were directed at Vin Diesel.

2. Struggle for leadership. After Johnson's appearance in the 'Fast & Furious' series, he became as popular as Vin Diesel. Many fans began to discuss that his character even overshadowed Dominic Toretto. This could have affected Diesel, who was initially the main face of the franchise.
3. Disagreements regarding the development of the franchise. Vin Diesel saw 'Fast & Furious' as a story about family and friendship, while Johnson focused more on action and dynamic scenes. These disagreements also affected their relationship.

In 2019, the film 'Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw' was released, featuring Johnson alongside Jason Statham. This spin-off upset Vin Diesel and other franchise actors, as the film's production delayed the release of 'Fast & Furious 9'. Tyrese Gibson, one of the franchise's veterans, openly criticized Johnson for this move, claiming it destroyed the family's atmosphere of the series.

Johnson, in turn, did not remain silent and emphasized that he works with professionals, hinting at disagreements with Diesel.

Despite the public conflict, in 2021, Vin Diesel tried to mend relations. He wrote an open letter urging Johnson to return to the series and shoot the final film together. However, Johnson declined, stating that he did not want to work with Diesel again and that his decision was final.
