Shevchenko's Poetry and an Award from Zelensky. What Connected the Legendary Alain Delon with Ukraine.
At the age of 88, Alain Delon, a famous French film actor, passed away. He supported Ukraine in its struggle against Russia until the very end of his life. In 2022, he joined a solidarity project with the Ukrainian people by the journalist team Cyril Viguier and the Ukrainian embassy in France and recited Taras Shevchenko's poems in front of the cameras.

In September 2022, Alain Delon appeared in public to support Ukraine once again. He announced that he would conduct an interview with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Delon said that the events in Ukraine deeply saddened and shocked him, and he was fighting for the Ukrainian people. During the interview, Zelensky praised Delon's acting talent, and Delon called Zelensky a worthy president.
In April 2024, Alain Delon was awarded the Order of Merit of Ukraine by the President. This gesture was considered extraordinary and unprecedented. Alain Delon's death was announced this morning.
