Ukraine has lost a prominent composer Ihor Poklad, who died at the age of 83. His wife, Svitlana Poklad, announced this on her Facebook.
'That's it... I loved, love and will always love... Please pray for Ihor Dmytrovych... For his immortal soul' — wrote Svitlana.
Ihor Poklad was a recipient of the Shevchenko Prize, People's Artist of Ukraine, and a Hero of Ukraine. He is the author of over 150 songs, music for films, and works for orchestras. Some of his well-known compositions include: 'Kokhana', 'Dyki Husi', 'Zelen-Klen', 'Tykha Voda', 'Skrypka Hraje', 'Charyvna Skrypka' and others.
The last years of the composer's life were tense: surgeries, Russian occupation in Vorzel, where he had to live in a basement for weeks. He will always remain in the hearts of Ukrainians as a talented musician and a Hero.
