On Saturday, March 29, American actor Richard Chamberlain passed away. He is well known for his roles in adaptations of James Clavell's novels 'Shogun', 'The Count of Monte Cristo', and 'The Thorn Birds'. The actor died in Hawaii from complications following a stroke, he was 91 years old.

Richard Chamberlain was born on March 31, 1934, in Los Angeles. He began his career by appearing in films 'The Rainmaker' and 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents'.

Soon, he landed the lead role in the series 'Dr. Kildare', which brought him worldwide fame and a 'Golden Globe'. At that Time, the actor also pursued music and released two albums Richard Chamberlain Sings and The Theme From Dr. Kildare.

The actor also starred in the 1980 series 'Shogun' and the drama 'The Thorn Birds'. These projects brought him success and popularity, as well as significant fees. Richard appeared in films 'The Road West', 'The Bourne Identity', and 'Wallenberg: A Hero's Story'.

In 2003, the actor published an autobiography in which he confessed to his non-traditional orientation. Since the mid-1970s he had been in a relationship with actor and producer Martin Rabbett.

The Hollywood actor was found dead in his home, along with his wife who also passed away.
