Michelle previously shared that her weight loss is the result of a 17-month lifestyle change and hard work, without using injections like Mounjaro and Ozempic.
“Before this lifestyle change, I was in a cycle, endlessly searching for a new magical diet, believing it existed somewhere, waiting for the moment to instantly transform me into a better version of myself,”
she confessed.
Michelle worked with trainer Lisa Hardingback, developing a plan that included maintaining a calorie deficit and physical activity, including swimming.
Michelle's Example for Others
Michelle found motivation after she began to feel “dark thoughts” about her health and the possibility of not being around for her children in case of problems.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Michelle, who has type 1 diabetes, admitted that she felt ashamed due to negative comments about her body and weight.
“I think in my 20s and 30s I was so focused on returning to Scotland and achieving success in this broadcasting career that I didn’t pay attention to my weight,”
she said.
Now, after giving birth to two children, her outlook on life has changed.
“When I had children, it was like turning off a light, as suddenly it was no longer just about me,”
she added.
Michelle strives to live in harmony, noting: “Now I feel much healthier. And the key to life is that no one should define what weight you should be.”
She now hosts the program Afternoons with Michelle McManus on BBC Radio Scotland and this year sang with Robbie Williams at his concert in Edinburgh.
Michelle McManus continues to inspire her fans not only with changes in her own life but also with how she talks about the importance of health and self-acceptance. Her story is a vivid example of how determination and the right approach can radically change a person's life.
With fresh successes in her career and a positive outlook on life, Michelle proves that anyone can achieve the desired changes if they sincerely strive for it and work on themselves.
