The Ukrainian Ambassador pointed out a hidden threat to democracy in Germany.

Highlighting the threat posed by Russia in the current election campaign, the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev, raised concerns at the federal party conference of the Free Democratic Party in Potsdam. He emphasized that pro-Russian political forces are becoming increasingly active ahead of the federal elections.
Among these forces, Makeiev noted the 'Alternative for Germany' and the Alliance of Sahra Wagenknecht, which he believes represent Russian interests more than German and European ones. The diplomat claims that this situation threatens European democracy and emphasizes that Russia is already waging war against Europe and, in particular, Germany.
Makeiev also made a remark regarding the attempts to downplay the Russian threat during the election campaign, calling it 'escapism' and 'lies.' He urged to provide maximum support to Ukraine in its defensive struggle against Russian aggression and warned that it is necessary to speak the truth about the war, as lies about it are dangerous for democracy.
Earlier, NATO condemned the atrocities of the Russian Federation and assessed the unique combat experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
