6,000 burial sites prepared at the National Military Memorial Cemetery.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with government officials, representatives of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, and representatives of veterans' and public organizations. He announced the readiness to open 6,000 burial sites in the near future. Additionally, the construction of the second launch complex is underway.

“Together with representatives of the government, Kyiv RMA, the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, veterans' and public organizations, historians, and families of the fallen, we coordinated our further steps,” said the Prime Minister.

Shmyhal emphasized that honoring Ukraine's defenders is a priority of the state veteran policy. He called for the National Military Memorial Cemetery to become a place of honor and gratitude for those who gave their lives for the country.

In 2025, the first burials are planned to begin at the National Military Memorial Cemetery in the village of Hatne in the Fastiv district of Kyiv region. The project is being carried out in accordance with the legislation, confirmed Minister Natalia Kalmykova.

Previously, Ukraine's heroes were honored during military funerals. Currently, work is ongoing on the construction of the launch complex, which is crucial for implementing the grand project of honoring the fallen soldiers.
