Typhoon Jongdari Approaching China's Eastern Coast
According to the Chinese National Meteorological Center, in the near future, Typhoon Jongdari will approach China's eastern coast. This is already the ninth typhoon this year. The center of the cyclone was previously located east of Taiwan, about 430 km from Taipei. The maximum wind speed in the epicenter is 18 m/s.
«Jongdari will move north at a speed of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour. It will enter the East China Sea with a slight change in intensity and gradually weaken after entering the Yellow Sea», - reported the center.
Within the next 24 hours, the typhoon will affect eastern Taiwan, the Taiwan Strait, the East China Sea, and the coast of two provinces. Due to the northward movement of the typhoon at a speed of 15-20 km/h, a storm is expected in the provinces of Fujian and Zhejiang.
Typhoon Ampil, which affected Japan on August 16, led to the cancellation of 500 domestic flights. It brought heavy rain and strong winds to the Izu Islands and coastal areas of the Kanto and Tohoku regions.
