Germany to Deliver Four More IRIS-T Air Defense Systems to Ukraine

Deputy Spokesman for the German Federal Government Wolfgang Büchner announced that the country plans to deliver four more IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of the year. This is stated on the German government's website.

Germany also plans to deliver air defense systems, tanks, self-propelled artillery systems, and ammunition to Ukraine by the end of 2024 and next year. "Germany remains absolutely committed, and Chancellor Olaf Scholz reaffirms support for Ukraine and emphasizes that we will not weaken this support for a moment, regardless of what the President of Russia may hope," Büchner noted.

He also reported that by the end of the year, the following will be delivered to Ukraine: four more IRIS-T air defense systems, 10 Gepard anti-aircraft guns, 16 self-propelled artillery systems, 10 Leopard battle tanks, 20 Marder IFVs, 37 Leopard 1 battle tanks, five anti-aircraft tanks, two Skynex anti-aircraft systems, combat drones, and several thousand artillery and tank shells.

Additionally, Germany will continue training 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers this year and next year.

It should be reminded that earlier, rumors about the cessation of aid to Ukraine were denied in Germany.
