Presidential Debates: Trump Evades Question on Ukraine's Victory.
Former US President and state head candidate Donald Trump during debates with Kamala Harris did not provide a concrete answer regarding Ukraine's victory in the confrontation with military aggression from the Russian Federation. He expressed a desire for the war to end.
"I want the war to end. I want to save lives because people are dying by the millions. Billions of dollars are being spent on this war by America. They don't ask Europe for money to such an extent," Trump said.
According to him, current US President Joe Biden "just does not have the courage to demand money from Europe as I demanded from Europe for NATO".
"Pay - or stay without help," Trump added.
He also reiterated that he "knows well" Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russia's dictator Vladimir Putin.
"I know Zelensky well, I know Putin well. I am respected. But Biden is not respected. And why respect him, he hasn't called Putin in two years. If I am elected, I will talk to one president, talk to the other, and the war will end... Biden does not know how to communicate with Putin at all. Millions of people are dying, we are on the verge of World War III," Trump said.
He stated that "it's in our interest for this war to end, for there to be negotiations," and emphasized that "we must stop the killing of millions of people."
Furthermore, Trump accused Harris that, according to him, after her conversation with Zelensky in February 2022, Putin decided to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, so he called Harris a "poor negotiator."
