Salad Fish Polish Style: Simple Recipe for a Tasty Festive Table.
Salad 'Fish Polish Style': Christmas Menu
According to ТСН: There is less than a month left until the holidays, so now is the time to think about the menu and choose dishes that will impress your guests. The salad 'Fish Polish Style' is perfect for this: it is easy to prepare, has an impressive appearance, and its delicate taste combined with spicy pickled onions makes it a true gem of the festive evening.
Cooking Process:
Cut the salmon into portion-sized pieces. In a pot, bring water with bay leaf, salt, and a small sprig of dill to a boil. Boil the fish for about 10 minutes, then cool it, remove the bones, and flake it into tender fibers. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cut the onion into thin half-rings and rinse with cold water. Place it in a bowl, add salt, sugar, a little vinegar, and pour in 150 ml of water. Let it sit for 20 minutes — the onion will become crispy and lose its bitterness.
In a deep dish, layer the salad: 1st layer — fish; 2nd layer — pickled onion; top with a light mayonnaise “net”.
Repeat one more time. The top layer — fish under a delicate mayonnaise “cap”.
Put the salad in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours to let all the layers soak well: the fish will become particularly tender and juicy, while the onion will be aromatic and gentle.
Before serving, garnish with fresh dill and serve to the table.
