Guardiola and Serra have been considering divorce since December 2024, but after Josep visited his wife in Barcelona in early 2025, they decided to save the marriage. However, these efforts proved fruitless due to cooling feelings caused by distance.

The divorce agreement is expected to be signed in the coming weeks. Guardiola and Serra married in 2014, after living together for 20 years. The couple has three children: Maria, Marius, and Valentina.
