Cancellation of racing due to failures with the hare
According to The Sun: The dog races in Sunderland were cancelled, and the organizers launched a 'thorough investigation' following the second hare malfunction in five days. The hare did not open properly during the race at 7:41 on Friday evening – one of the greyhounds was horrifically lifted into the air when its paw got stuck.
“This is unacceptable, and we must take action to prevent it from happening again,” said representatives of the organization.
Determining the causes of this situation became a priority for the organizers, as the safety of the animals is the primary goal. Such incidents cause concern among participants and spectators, so it is evident that measures need to be taken to prevent similar cases in the future. The organizers are ready to collaborate with relevant experts to ensure safe conditions for all race participants.
