Manchester United has lost 19 matches under Amorim: what's going wrong.
According to The Sun: Six years ago, after influencing Manchester United, Jim Ratcliffe described the situation with the words “DUMB MONEY”. And now, sitting in the director's box at Old Trafford, he hopes to gain some concessions. This may explain his choice of soft interviewers, before whom he willingly comments on the situation in the club.
Man Utd has regressed under Jim Ratcliffe, although he does not like it. PA The Red Devils have lost 19 matches since the appointment of Ruben Amorim. Only one correspondent was present at the summit in Knightsbridge dedicated to his minor stake in the club in February 2024.
Ratcliffe believes that the press does not quite understand the situation. “The press, sometimes I do not understand”, he complained in The Business podcast.
“They want to achieve success overnight. They think it’s like turning a light on and off,” he noted.
He also added that managing a club like Manchester United is impossible based on the impulsive thoughts of journalists.
Regression in Results
Since the appointment of Ruben Amorim last fall, Manchester United has lost 19 matches. Among these defeats is a particularly humiliating game in the League Cup against a lower division team.
The club finished last season in 15th place without trophies — the worst performance since 1974 and the first full season under Ratcliffe’s leadership.
“This is possibly the worst squad in the club's history,” promised Amorim.
Financial Spending
During his management, Ratcliffe spent over £250 million. Meanwhile, the club, known for its choice of wingers, abandoned traditional gaming schemes.
Management Issues
During Ratcliffe’s management, there has been an increase in ticket prices, the relocation of long-term season ticket holders, two rounds of staff cutbacks, and a decline in morale among employees.
Ratcliffe's choice of cycling consultant Sir Dave Brailsford turned out to be unsuccessful, and Brailsford no longer works at the club.
In recent years, journalists covering Manchester United have been trying to convey the emotions of fans and analyze the situation with the club. The situation remains tense, and further actions by management may impact the team's future in the league.
