Why fans are outraged
On August 22, Lola Young was scheduled to perform at the Reading festival and the next day at Leeds. However, despite being included in the program, the singer canceled her performance just days before the event.
The festival organizers announced her cancellation on social media, stating:
“Due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict, Lola Young will not be performing at R&L (Reading and Leeds) 2025.”They also apologized for any inconvenience caused.
Fans were outraged when they saw her at the Notting Hill Carnival celebration, which she herself reported on her Instagram story. Comparative photos of her statement and screenshots from her profile appeared on Reddit.
One user wrote:
“Just saw this on insta, and her story yesterday of her makeup. Just feels really sad and as if her fans are unimportant to her. What kind of ‘scheduling conflict’ was this? B*.”Another added:
“It just makes a mockery of it all really, it’s sad to see her cancelling purely for what seems like some sort of jolly.”
