The Director of the Film 'Russians at War' Got into the Ministry of Culture's 'Blacklist'.
Ukraine Added the Director of the Film 'Russians at War' to the 'Blacklist'
The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has added the former employee of the propaganda channel 'Russia Today', the director of the film 'Russians at War', Anastasia Trofimova, to the 'blacklist'. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
Anastasia Trofimova became the 233rd person on the list of individuals who pose a threat to Ukraine's national security, published on the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine's website.
«The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine opposes any attempts to use art as a tool of Russian propaganda. Cases similar to Trofimova's activities are part of a broader information war waged by the Russian Federation, trying to justify its aggression through culture and media. We fight against the promotion of false narratives and manipulations that seek to replace the truth and remove responsibility from the aggressor. Ukraine consistently works to ensure that Russian propaganda cannot penetrate cultural venues both inside the country and beyond, protecting the truth about the war and freedom», – said the head of the ministry, Mykola Tochytskyi.
It is worth noting that the Canadian media organization TVO (TV Ontario), which provided funding for the production of the film 'Russians at War' by Russian director Anastasia Trofimova, has decided not to show it any further.
Later, Kyiv expressed strong protest against the screening of the film 'Russians at War' at the International Film Festival in Toronto. This was reported by the Consul General of Ukraine in Toronto, Oleh Nikolenko. The Ukrainian community in Canada held a protest in Toronto demanding the cancellation of the screening of the Russian propaganda film at the International Film Festival in Toronto.
Earlier, the State Film Agency of Ukraine condemned the screening of the film, calling it 'veiled Russian propaganda'.
