Missiles for Yemeni Houthis, supplies by Russia

According to sources from CNN, Russia refused to supply missiles and military equipment to the Houthis in Yemen at the turn of the past month due to pressure from the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Russia planned to supply weapons to the Houthi rebels, but Saudi Arabia, which is at war with the Houthis, prevented this. The United States also approached Saudi Arabia to help convince Russia to abandon this idea.

Although the weapon transfer was canceled, Russia still sent military personnel to advise the Houthis. Russian ships made a stop in the southern part of the Red Sea, where military personnel were delivered by the Houthis to Yemen.

The United States does not perceive any attempts to increase the armament of the Houthis as facilitating a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Yemen and stabilizing the situation in the region.

The Houthis began attacking ships passing through the Red Sea, which led to airstrikes by the United States and the United Kingdom aimed at destroying the military infrastructure of the Houthis.
