In Russia, business support has been reduced by 50%: consequences for the economy and unemployment.
According to inkorr.com: In Russia, during the first half of 2025, there has been an almost one and a half times reduction in state support for small and medium-sized enterprises compared to the previous year. This information was disclosed by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
The reasons are the reduction in the volume of preferential lending, 'budget optimization,' and the transition to selective assistance only for entrepreneurs in key sectors - manufacturing, logistics, IT, and tourism. The number of recipients has decreased by 22%.
According to data from the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Russian government continues to increase spending on the war against Ukraine, spending tens of billions of rubles on this aggression at the expense of supporting its own citizens and developing the national economy.
Plans for the Future
From 2025 to 2030, it is planned to allocate 330 billion rubles for supporting small and medium-sized businesses, which is 20% less than in the previous six years. Such actions may lead to an increase in unemployment and a slowdown in economic growth, as small and medium enterprises provide millions of jobs in Russia,' noted the intelligence.
Negative Consequences
The reduction of state support for small and medium-sized businesses in Russia may have serious consequences for the country's economy. This may lead to an increase in unemployment and a slowdown in development against the backdrop of rising expenditures on the war against Ukraine. The situation indicates a change in priorities in the distribution of state resources in Russia.
Under conditions of reduced state investments in business and support for entrepreneurs, the country may face difficulties that could negatively affect economic stability. The lack of attention to the development of small and medium businesses may worsen the situation regarding jobs and the overall economic picture in the state.
