Russia blocked the Discord messenger, popular among gamers: reason.

Russia restricted access to the Discord messenger due to legal violations
Russia blocked the popular Discord messenger, citing violations of Russian law. This was reported by The Moscow Times.
Roskomnadzor announced the blocking of the Discord messenger. According to the regulator, the platform violated Russian law, including failing to remove prohibited content in the country upon request
In response to a request from the Russian service of the 'Voice of America,' a YouTube service representative noted that everything works properly on their side.
The administration of Discord did not take action against terrorism and citizen recruitment
According to the publication, Roskomnadzor believes that the Discord administration did not take sufficient measures to prevent the use of the platform for terrorist and extremist purposes, including the recruitment of citizens and the sale of drugs.
Roskomnadzor restricted access to the Signal messenger
Earlier, Roskomnadzor had already restricted access to the Signal messenger in Russia. Russian users began to complain about service disruptions during the day on August 9, and the messenger stopped opening without a VPN or enabling bypass mode.
Russia also restricted YouTube's operation
The YouTube network was forced to reduce access speed to the service to a level practically equivalent to its blocking. High-quality videos do not play in Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, and Mi Browser, and users are directed to YouTube through the Safari browser in the mobile version. A YouTube service representative, in response to a request from the Russian service of the 'Voice of America,' stated that everything works properly on their side.
Reducing access speed to YouTube - this is against the administration
The head of the State Duma committee on information policy, Alexander Khinshtein, previously warned that the loading speed of YouTube on desktop computers in Russia could decrease by 70%. This step is made not against Russian users, but against the administration of the foreign resource.
