Russia launched over 80 missiles and drones at Ukraine: how the air defense operated.

On the night of October 7 and in the morning until 08:30, Russian forces carried out a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. The Russian Federation used Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Kh-59 aircraft missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles. This is reported by the press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian missiles were launched from the Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as from the areas of Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, and Yeisk.

Around 08:20, the enemy attacked with three Kinzhal Kh-47M2 aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K aircraft that took off from the Savvasleyka airfield in the Tambov region.

According to the Air Forces of Ukraine, the radio technical troops detected more than 80 air targets. The defense was carried out by anti-aircraft missile forces, radio electronic warfare (REW) units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of the air defense battle, two Kinzhal missiles were destroyed over Kyiv region and 32 enemy drones in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kharkiv region, several enemy drone hits were recorded, and one of the three Kinzhals hit the area of the Starokostiantyniv airfield in the Khmelnytskyi region. Additionally, in various regions of Ukraine, 37 Russian drones were lost, likely due to the active work of REW.

One drone continues to remain in the air, and combat operations are ongoing. Further information on additional hits is being clarified.

Recall, as a result of the missile attack on Kyiv this morning, October 7, debris falls were recorded in three districts of Kyiv - in Solomyanskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi.

The KMWA press service reports damage to the roof of a multi-story residential building and a fragment hitting the territory of a school. Fragments were also found in open areas. Preliminary, no casualties have been reported. A fire caused by a fragment's fall in one of the garages on private property was extinguished.

Also in Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region, there were explosions early in the morning of October 7. Missiles flew towards the city.
