Russian troops continue to advance on Ukrainian territories. In particular, the enemy has achieved success in the Kursk region, in the Kupiansk direction, and in the Donetsk region. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also showing positive results. This is reported by analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in their report.

Kursk operation

Analysts report that Russian troops have recently achieved some success on the main Ukrainian salient in the Kursk region. According to geolocated images from October 7, Russians have made slight advances in the eastern part of Obukhivka, located southeast of Korenevo.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry claims that unidentified Russian airborne units captured the Pokrovsky farm, south of Korenevo. A Russian military correspondent stated that units of the 155th Marine Brigade of the Russian Federation advanced to Zeleny Shlyakh, which is southeast of Korenevo. Several other Russian bloggers also reported the capture of Nova Sorochina, located north of Sudzha. Furthermore, a military correspondent claims that Russian troops advanced in the Cherkaska Konopelka area southeast of Sudzha. However, ISW has found no visual confirmation of these claims.

East Ukraine. Operation №1 - Kharkiv region

Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Vovchansk and Tykhe areas on October 9 and 10, but there were no confirmed changes on the front line.

Operation №2 - Luhansk region

Geolocated images published on October 10 indicate that Russian troops have recently advanced along Lugova Street in the northern part of Petropavlivka (east of Kupiansk) and southwest of Kotliarivka (southeast of Kupiansk).

Russian sources claim that the troops advanced southwest of Kyslivka (southeast of Kupiansk) and up to two kilometers east of the settlement of Terny (northwest of Kreminna), but ISW has found no confirmation of these claims.

On October 9 and 10, Russian troops continued attacks:

  • northeast of Kupiansk in the Siniukivka area and towards Kucheriivka;
  • east of Kupiansk in the Petropavlivka area;
  • southeast of Kupiansk in the areas of Stepna Novoselivka, Vyshneve, Novoosynove, Kolesnykivka, Kruhljakivka, and Lozova;
  • west of Svatove in the areas of Zelenyi Hai and Andriivka;
  • southeast of Svatove in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka, Druželublivka, Novosadove, Nevske, and in the direction of Katerynivka;
  • west of Kreminna near Toretsk;
  • southwest of Kreminna in the Serebrianskyi forest area.

Operation №3 - Donetsk region

Russian sources largely denied recent reports of Russian forces advancing towards Siversk amid ongoing Russian offensive operations in the region on October 10.

Russian military correspondents actively stated on October 9 and 10 that Russian troops did not capture Verkhnokamianske (east of Siversk) and parts of Serebrianka (north of Siversk) or advance north of Siversk in the area of Hryhorivka and Bilohorivka.

A well-known blogger associated with the Kremlin expressed the opinion that Russian troops do not have sufficient cover to capture Verkhnokamianske without controlling the heights to the north and south. He also noted that footage with the Russian flag on the outskirts of Hryhorivka was captured by a drone, not infantry.

ISW analyzed geolocated images from October 7 and 8, indicating that Russian troops, at least temporarily, advanced east of Hryhorivka and into the western part of Verkhnokamianske, but this does not indicate that Russians have occupied fortified positions in the area.

It is also reported that the enemy has recently slightly advanced north of Chasiv Yar. According to geolocated images from October 9, Russian troops made slight advances southwest of Hryhorivka.

On October 9 and 10, the enemy continued ground attacks:

  • in the Mikro district in Chasiv Yar;
  • north of Chasiv Yar in the areas of Minkivka and Orikhovo-Vasylivka;
  • south of Chasiv Yar in the areas of Bila Hora, Oleksandro-Shultine, and Stupochky.

"Southern Axis"

Russian troops on October 10 continued offensive operations in the west of the Zaporizhia region, including near the settlement of Robotyne and in the Mala Tokmachka area, but did not achieve any confirmed successes.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy also continued to advance on October 9 and 10, but there were no confirmed changes on the front line.

By the way, Russian troops are transferring assault groups to the Robotyne area in the Zaporizhia region. Additionally, the enemy is actively conducting reconnaissance operations
