Ukrainian military forces reported that Russia is using its ships in the Black Sea to launch 'Kalibr' missiles during attacks on Ukraine. Spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, stated that this is done to overload Ukrainian air defense systems. He also noted that the Russian Federation cannot use other types of missiles due to the technical incompatibility of the launch systems. This reduces the threat from the sea, but indicates that Russia is forced to use costly missiles to achieve minimal results.
