Russian tennis player Mokrov banned for 4 years: reason - doping.
According to inkorr.com: Russian tennis player Oleksiy Mokrov received a four-year ban from competition due to the use of a prohibited substance, nandrolone. His results will be annulled starting November 2024, and the athlete will be removed from competitions from January 2025. Mokrov disagrees with this decision, however, the ITIA assures that the violation of anti-doping rules has been confirmed.
Disqualification and Consequences
Mokrov's doping test was positive for nandrolone in November 2024, for which he received a four-year ban. Points and prizes during this period will be annulled.
Athletes' Political Actions
Additionally, it is worth noting that Russian skater Oleksandra Saitina has caused some discontent due to her participation in propaganda activities organized by Vladimir Putin. This contradicts the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee regarding the neutrality of athletes.
Thus, Russian athletes not only continue to violate anti-doping norms but also actively participate in political events. This may negatively affect their careers and reputation, as the sports community increasingly critically evaluates the actions of athletes who abuse their popularity to support political ideas.
