Bohdan Sylvestrovych Stupka was born on August 27, 1941, in the village of Kulykiv in the Lviv region. After graduating from Lviv Polytechnic Institute, he chose to follow his calling in theater and became a prominent actor.

Throughout his career, which lasted over half a century, Bohdan Stupka played more than 100 roles in film and on stage. His acting was filled with energy, depth of feeling, and philosophical wonder.

Bohdan Stupka had a wonderful voice and could have become an opera singer, but he chose the path of an actor. He was also a passionate chess player and dedicated his free time to the game.

From 1999 to 2001, he served as the Minister of Culture and Arts of Ukraine, putting in maximum effort to develop Ukrainian culture.
