Sibiga summarized the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the USA.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga summarized the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the USA and participation in the UN General Assembly. In his post on Facebook, he called this visit "very important".
According to Sibiga, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held dozens of meetings at the UN General Assembly and had a separate bilateral program in the USA. He personally presented the Victory Plan to US President Joseph Biden and both presidential candidates - Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
"This visit, despite some inherent election campaign turbulence, demonstrated the unity and strength of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA," the minister noted. He emphasized that the unprecedented announcement of 7.9 billion dollars in defense assistance was evidence of this.
Sibiga himself held 22 full-fledged bilateral negotiations with foreign colleagues, ministers, and heads of international and regional organizations, as well as about a dozen brief pull-aside negotiations. Among the countries whose representatives he met with, he mentioned the states of Central Asia, South America, Africa, and Asia.
The minister also participated in six multilateral events, among which were the G7+ ministerial meeting on energy, a meeting with ministers of EU member states, and a meeting in the Transatlantic Community foreign ministers' format.
Sibiga emphasized the importance of holding the top leadership of the Russian Federation accountable for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. He also discussed with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi the threats of Russian strikes on nuclear energy.
"It can be confidently said that this visit of the President and the work at the UN General Assembly made Ukraine stronger," the minister summed up.
