Syrsky met with volunteer Sternenko after scandal.
The Chief of Staff met with volunteers and human rights activists
General Alexander Syrsky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, met with volunteers Sergiy Sternenko and Igor Lachenkov, the founder of the charity fund Dignitas Lyubov Shipovych, and human rights activist and co-founder of the NGO 'Principle' Lyubov Galan. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
During the meeting, the General discussed a range of urgent issues related to the Ukrainian Armed Forces with representatives of civil society. These include the introduction of technological innovations in the Armed Forces and problems with consolidating society around the army.
'The participants agreed that such meetings are useful for constructive discussions. This practice will help reduce the destructive influence of the enemy on personnel and Ukrainian society,' the statement said.
Interestingly, the meeting took place after the incident with Sternenko, who accused Syrsykyj of persecution.
As a reminder: Volunteer Sergiy Sternenko was sought after for not appearing on Time at the military enlistment office. According to Sternenko, he provided his address in Kyiv during the data update, but no requests were sent to him. He also claims that no summons were received either after registration or after his actual place of residence.
However, the military registration and enlistment office of the city of Odesa announced that Sternenko had already visited the Primorsky Military Registration and Recruiting Center and the military police, where he paid a fine for violating the rules of military registration. He was also sent to a military medical examination board. Later, Sternenko accused the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Syrskyj of persecution because he wanted to implement reforms in the army.
It should be noted that the conscription of individual persons is carried out based on the decisions of the military enlistment offices of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
