German Intelligence: Russia and China are Expanding Methods of Espionage and Sabotage.
The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany emphasizes the need to increase preparedness against foreign sabotage and espionage. According to the office, countries like Russia and China have expanded their influence beyond traditional state structures. They are engaging not only classical tools but also state universities, companies, and private individuals to carry out intelligence tasks. This was stated by the deputy president of the office Sinan Selen during the annual security conference.
Selen provided examples of potential sabotage, mentioning recent incidents: investigations into events on German military ships, as well as the discovery of packages with incendiary devices and arson in a IKEA store in Lithuania and a shopping mall in Poland.
