Svitolina suffered a defeat in the quarterfinals of the Roland Garros.
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has concluded her performance at Roland Garros, losing to Polish athlete Iga Swiatek. The Pole won with a score of 6:1, 7:5.
In the first set, Svitolina managed to win only one game, losing the other five in a row. In the second set, there was a exchange of breaks, but Swiatek secured victory after 1 hour and 43 minutes of play.
«I feel hate not only towards the ruler Putin but also towards Russia. It's a very difficult feeling for me - a mix of pain, anger, sadness. All of this is very deep. I am not sure I will ever change my mind. I will feel this until the end of my days. He has inflicted pain on Ukraine, our families, our people», - said Elina.
Svitolina expressed confidence that Putin must be punished for his actions. This was the fifth quarterfinal at Roland Garros for the Ukrainian athlete in her career, but this time she could not advance further.
Elina Svitolina lost to Iga Swiatek at Roland Garros 2025 and expressed her position regarding Putin. The Polish tennis player secured victory, while the Ukrainian concluded her participation in the tournament, acknowledging the need for punishment for the crimes.
