Biography of Anatoliy Semenovich Reder

Anatoliy Semenovich Reder - Ukrainian scientist, general director and co-founder of the pharmaceutical company 'InterChem'. Candidate of chemical sciences, honored professor at the National I.I. Mechnikov University of Odessa, philanthropist.

Place of Birth. Education. Born on December 18, 1961, in Odessa.

In 1983, he graduated from the National I.I. Mechnikov University of Odessa with a red diploma. From 1984 to 1988, he was a PhD student at the O.V. Bogatsky Physical-Chemical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In 1989, he defended his candidate's dissertation on 'Synthesis of Hydroxyl-Substituted Cryptands'. In 1991 and 1992, he completed internships at the universities of Sheffield and Birmingham (UK).

On December 11, 1992, the company 'InterChem' was registered, of which Anatoliy Reder became a co-founder and co-shareholder.

Career. As the general director of 'InterChem' since 1992, Reder has led the company into the top 10 of leading domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers with more than 40 proprietary medical products.

Together with partners, the entrepreneur founded the first pharmaceutical production in Ukraine, which was built from scratch according to European GMP standards and where a complete 2D coding system for medicines was introduced for the first time in the country.

At the helm of 'InterChem', he introduced 4 original molecules that formed the basis for the domestic flagship medicines 'Amixin', 'Hydazepam', 'Phenazepam', and 'Levana', which have been awarded the title of drugs of the year in Ukraine multiple times.

Awards. Knight of the Order of Yaroslav the Wise, 5th class. Recipient of the State Prize of Ukraine for Science and Technology. Honored worker of the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine. Recipient of the award from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in honor of Academician Kiprianov.

For his activities during the full-scale invasion, he received the honorary badge 'For Support of the Military' from the Supreme Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny, the award from the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, 3rd class, for his contribution to the security and defense of Ukraine, the medal from the Minister of Defense 'For Support of Defense', the award from the President of Ukraine 'For Defense of Ukraine', and a number of other awards.

Charity. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion until the end of 2023, Anatoliy Reder, along with 'InterChem', directed over 230 million UAH in aid to the armed forces and people affected by the war. The general director of the pharmaceutical company has been supporting the army and internally displaced persons since 2014.

Reder is actively engaged in charity work, collaborating with over 50 charitable foundations, volunteer organizations, and social institutions. Since 2012, he has been providing continuous sponsorship support for the Odessa Women's Basketball Team 'InterChem-SDUSSHOR named after B. Litvak' and has supported a nursing home for the elderly named after St. Panteleimon Miloserdie for more than 20 years.

In 2020, the entrepreneur, together with partners, implemented the SophiaHelp project to save St. Sophia of Kyiv from destruction due to ongoing critical moisture penetration in the walls and foundations of the historic monuments.

In 2021, Anatoliy Reder donated a unique 3D prism with a hologram of the authentic face of Yaroslav the Wise in his youth, reconstructed by modern Ukrainian researchers, to St. Sophia Cathedral to counter the Soviet myth about the Kyiv Grand Prince.

Personal Life. Anatoliy Reder is married and has an adult daughter.
