Ivan Michailovych Aparshin (ukr. Іван Михайлович Апаршин) - Ukrainian military, Colonel of the reserve, responsible for security and defense issues in the team of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Assistant to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. Director General of the Directorate for National Security and Defense Issues of the Office of the President.

Place of Birth. Education. Born on May 25, 1956, in Berlin, Germany. He graduated from the Kyiv Higher Command Engineering College for the operation of tracked and wheeled vehicles (1977), the Military Academy M.W. Frunze - Officer with higher military education (1985), the National Defense Academy of Ukraine - Master in Military Management (2000).

Career. From 1977 to 2000 - service in officer positions: platoon leader, company commander, battalion commander, chief of staff of the regiment, in staff positions in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,

From 2001 to 2005 - Legal advisor, Deputy Director of the company 'Styrolpharmtorg',

In 2005 - Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine,

From 2005 to 2007 - Director of the Department of Military Politics and Strategic Planning of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,

Political Career. In the parliamentary elections of 2014 - candidate for the Ukraine deputies (No. 9 on the party Civil Position list).

In the presidential elections of 2019, the presidential candidate of Ukraine Anatoliy Hryzenko named Ivan Aparshin a possible Minister of Defense in case of his victory.

On April 18, 2019, the presidential candidate of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Aparshin responsible for defense and security in his team.

In June 2019, he was appointed Assistant to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

In October 2019, Ivan Aparshin won the competition for the position of head of the Directorate for National Security and Defense Issues of the Office of the President.

Family. Married, has one child and a grandchild.
