Arfusch Valid

Date of Birth: 10.04.1971
Place of Birth. Education. Born in Tripoli, Lebanon. Moved to Ukraine in 1990 following his brother Omar. In 1991, he enrolled in the Faculty of Journalism at Dnipro State University. He obtained Ukrainian citizenship in 2005.
Career. In 1995, the Arfusch brothers founded one of the first FM radio stations, Super-Nova, which they sold in 2005.
In 1997, they became producers of the 'Miss Europe' competition in Kyiv.
From 1998 to 2000, they represented the interests of the modeling agency 'Elite' in Ukraine and organized the international modeling competition 'Elite Model Look'.
In 2000, Arfusch became the first UN Special Ambassador for the fight against AIDS in Ukraine.
In 2002, he, along with his brother, founded the beauty contest 'Miss@Net World', the finale of which took place in Libya. In the same year, he established the creative BTL agency Super Nova Agency, which deals with the marketing and promotion of new brands and products as well as the PR support of politicians and entrepreneurs.
In 2003, the brothers began publishing the magazine Paparazzi about the lives of showbiz stars and powerholders. In 2005, the magazine published an article about the son of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, Andriy Yushchenko, which allegedly led to the arson of Valid Arfusch's Bentley as revenge and intimidation.
In 2005, Arfusch's book 'Sex. Murder. Million' was published by Folio Publishing, in which he recounts the sensational events in Ukraine in recent years in his own portrayal.
In 2006, Arfusch and his brother acquired the rights to hold three beauty contests 'Miss Europe', the first of which took place in the same year in Kyiv. A year later, the Arfusch brothers founded a new beauty contest 'Miss Ex-USSR' or 'Miss CIS'.
In 2006, Valid played the role of the bandit Arthur in the film 'Old Colonels' by the well-known Ukrainian director Andrei Benkendorf.
In 2007, he founded the public organization 'SOS! Racism!' and became its Secretary General.
In 2008, he became the 'Chronicler' in the TV show of Savik Shuster 'Shuster Live'.
From August 2009 to February 2010, Arfusch was involved in the election campaign of presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych and was a member of the candidate's creative council as well as the head of the international press department.
From March 2010, Arfusch was the Deputy General Director of the Ukrainian television channel National Channel under the leadership of Yegor Benkendorf.
Since June 2014, he has been the Head of Euronews in the CIS countries and President of the Coordination Council of the Ukrainian version of Euronews.
In 2017, Arfusch bought the television channel HDFashion & LifeStyle.
Since 2019, he has been Vice President of the international television channel Euronews.
Family and Environment. Friendship with former Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Anna Herman. In 2008, he converted to Christianity, his godparents were politician Nestor Shufrich and singer Irina Bilyk. From his first marriage to Natalia Dementeva, he has two children: son Karim (born 1996) and daughter Lisa (born 2000). He currently lives in a common-law partnership with Lida Petrova, with whom he has a second daughter Emily (born 2004) and a son Adam.
