Yaroslav Petrovich Mendus is a Ukrainian politician, people's deputy of Ukraine of the V convocation.
Place of Birth. Education. Born on January 1, 1960, in the village of Varyazh, Lviv region. He received his education at the Faculty of History of the Ivan Franko Lviv State University and the Kyiv Institute of Political Science and Social Management.
Career. Yaroslav Mendus worked as deputy head of the administration of the President of Ukraine (under Leonid Kuchma). In 1999, he was the press secretary of Oleksandr Moroz during the presidential elections.
In 2002, he planned to run for people's deputy from the Socialist Party of Ukraine, but his candidacy was canceled.
Before being elected as a people's deputy, he held the position of general director of LLC "Cinema Company 'Cinema'". In 2005, he was the general producer of the film "Orange Sky" (a love story set against the background of the Ukrainian Orange Revolution).
In the 2006 elections, Yaroslav Mendus entered the parliament under the 18th number of the list of the Socialist Party of Ukraine, being non-partisan at that time. When the positions in the committees were distributed, he became the Secretary of the VR Committee on Judiciary Affairs.
Since 2011, he worked as an advisor to a member of the European Parliament from the Republic of Poland - Marek Siwiec.
Since June 2014, he has been the political advisor to the deputy chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament, Ioan Mircea Pașcu.
Since November 15, 2014, he has been the political advisor to the Vice President of the European Parliament.
Death. He died on May 15, 2022, at the age of 63 due to a serious illness.
