Assia Akhat

Date of Birth: 06.03.1965
Career Start. She began learning the violin at the age of five. Later, she received musical training at the National Academy, completed an internship at the Music Academy in Nice, worked at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, and performed as the first violinist of a quartet. She received titles and diplomas from international competitions in France and Italy.
Solo Career. In 1999, Assia Akhat released her first solo album 'Homo Novus', on which the violinist performed pieces specifically written for her for the first time. The summer of 2000 was marked by a successful concert tour 'Homo Novus' in renowned venues of the largest cities in Ukraine and Russia. The diva and her violin began to win hearts.
The violinist played the Ukrainian anthem several times before the fights of heavyweight boxer Vitali Klitschko in Germany. Shortly after, Assia presented a new solo program - 'Book of Dreams' - to the German audience.
Her first performances abroad already took place while studying in Nice. Later, there was the first solo concert in Germany, followed by a performance in Monaco at an international ceremony.
Assia Akhat performed with a solo program in Slovakia, Milan, Moscow and other cities in Russia, participated in the international festival 'Music from Films' with Sting, Robert Plant, Mark Knopfler. She was part of the project 'The 8 Best Violinists' in the Congress Hall of Warsaw. She played in an ensemble with Jean-Luc Ponty, Pierre Blanchard, performed in duo with violinist Vadim Repin and improvised jazz pieces with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. In the summer of 2004, she participated in the days of Ukrainian culture on the Côte d'Azur in France.
In April 2002, Assia Akhat signed a contract with the company 'Universal/Ukrainian Records'. The first joint project was the album 'For You, Anais'. On this album, Assia sang for the first time. This was followed by a contract with 'Universal' in Poland. In Ukraine, the video 'Where are you now?' was released, and in Poland, its Polish version 'Gdzie mam szukac cie'. The Hollywood actor of Polish descent, Boguslaw Linda, was involved in the filming.
In 2003, Assia Akhat released the album 'Chocolate'. On it, she sang in Russian, Polish, and French.
In 2005, 'The Soul Ached' was released - the first truly personal album. The music for most of the songs was written by Assia herself. A year later, the albums 'Hot Kiss' (during this time the artist began collaborating with the group '69') and 'I like it' were released.
In 2007, the album 'I Am the Best' was released.
In 2010, the joint album 'Angels don't Smoke' with the group '69' was released.
In 2011, Assia Akhat radically changed her professional direction. Assia Akhat focused on contemporary violin music.
She regularly participates in various festivals and television projects. She took part in the international festival 'Music from Films' with Sting, with Robert Plant, Mark Knopfler, played on the same stage as Vadim Repin, Jean-Luc Ponty, Pierre Blanchard, Mark O'Connor and others. As part of concert tours through America, she played with Chris Botti, Kurt Elling, Eric Serra.
In 2013, the single 'If Only Tonight' was recorded at St. Lake Studio in Los Angeles. The single topped several charts simultaneously.

Family. The singer is married. Her husband - Igor Balenko, a well-known businessman, co-owner of the supermarket chain Fozhet. Son Daniel (from first marriage). Son Philipp Balenko (born 2003).
