Christian Charles Philip Bale - British actor. Winner of the 'Oscar' award, two-time winner of the 'Golden Globe' and two-time winner of the Screen Actors Guild Award. Known for his role as Batman in the cult trilogy 'The Dark Knight' by Christopher Nolan.

Place of Birth. Education. Christian Bale was born on January 30, 1974, in Pembrokeshire, Wales, into an English family. His parents are circus artist Jenny James and businessman and activist David Bale. Bale and his family left Wales when he was two years old, moving to Bournemouth. The actor attended school in Bournemouth but left at the age of 16. His parents divorced in 1991, and at the age of 17, he moved to Los Angeles with his sister and father.

Career. Bale began his acting career at the age of 9 when he appeared in a British television commercial in 1983. Bale's first film role was as the friend of the main character in the film 'Mio, My Mio' (1987). In 1987, he starred in Steven Spielberg's drama 'Empire of the Sun' and received an award from the National Board of Review for it. In the following years, Bale starred in many films, including the 'The Dark Knight' trilogy and the film 'The Fighter', for which he won an Oscar.

Personal Life. Bale is married to former model Sandra Blažič and has two children. He has been living in Los Angeles since 1992. He acquired US citizenship in 2014.
