In 2011, she decided to retire due to a series of injuries.
In 2016, Aljona Bondarenko returned to professional tennis. Her first competition was the ITF events in Italy.
Family Relationships. In July 2010, Elena married her coach Nikolai Dyachok. On May 30, 2015, her son Yevgeni was born.
Aljona has two sisters: elder Valerija and younger Kateryna — both also play professional tennis.
