Jacek Krzysztof Czaputowicz - a Polish political scientist, university lecturer, politician, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

Place of Birth. Education. Born on May 30, 1956. In 1986, he graduated from the Higher School of Trade in Warsaw. He completed postgraduate studies at leading Western universities, including Oxford University.

In 1997, he defended his doctoral thesis at the Institute of Political Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, earning a doctorate in humanities (PhD) on the topic 'The European Security System After the End of the Cold War'.

In 2008, he obtained a doctoral degree in humanities from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of the University of Warsaw, successfully defending his dissertation on 'Theories of International Relations. Critique and Systematization'.

In 2016, he was awarded the title of professor.

Political Career. Since the early 1970s, he has collaborated with the democratic opposition, was active in 'Solidarity' and the 'Freedom and Peace' movement. He previously worked with the Workers' Defense Committee. During martial law, he was interned for more than 11 months.

From 1988 to 1990, he was a member of the Citizens' Committee chaired by the trade union leader 'Solidarity' Lech Walesa.

In 1990, he began working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the positions of deputy director, director of the consular department, and emigration (1990-1992).

From 2006 to 2008, he was the director of the Department of Strategy and Planning for Foreign Policy.

He was the deputy chairman of the Civil Service Council (2007-2009), a member of the Administrative Council of the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht (2006-2010), and a member of the Civil Service Council under the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland (2007-2009).

From 2008 to 2012, he was the director of the National School of Public Administration.

In 2014, he became a member of the program committee of the party 'Law and Justice'.

On September 15, 2017, he was appointed Deputy Secretary-General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Prime Minister Beata Szydło.

Since January 2017, he has served as the director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He heads the Chair of European Studies Methodology at the Institute of European Studies at the University of Warsaw. He has also taught at Collegium Civitas, the Business School in Warsaw, and the National-Louis University in Nowy Sącz. He has also been the editor-in-chief of the journals 'Poland in Europe', 'Civil Service', and 'The Russian Yearbook of the Civil Service'.

On January 9, 2018, Jacek Czaputowicz was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland when the new government was formed.

On August 20, 2020, Jacek Czaputowicz submitted his resignation from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
