Sergei Schwarzes

Sergei Petrovich Schwarzes - Ukrainian law enforcement officer and public servant. Colonel General. First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (2011-2013). First Deputy Head of the SBU (2013-2014).
Place of Birth. Education. Born in Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai (Russia). In 1982 he graduated from the Poltava Polytechnic Institute. In 1993 - Ukrainian Academy of Internal Affairs.
Career. He began his career in internal affairs in November 1982 as an engineer in the fire department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poltava.
From 1984 he served in operational units in mid-level and lower positions in the fight against economic crime and in leadership positions in the main department for combating organized crime and in the main department of the State Service for Combating Economic Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Since September 1996, he headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs department in the Poltava region.
In September 1998, he was transferred to the Security Service of Ukraine, where he was Deputy Head and Head of the Department for Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Economy.
From August 2001 to September 2003, he was the Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
In September 2003, he became Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
From January to December 2007, he was the Director of the Department of the State Service for Combating Economic Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
In March 2010, he was appointed First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (Anatoli Mogilev) - Head of the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime.
From January 26, 2011 - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs (Anatoli Mogilev).
On December 5, 2011, he was appointed First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (Vitali Sachartschenko) by decree of President Viktor Yanukovych.
On February 28, 2013, he was dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and appointed First Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (Alexander Yakimenko) - Head of the Main Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime in the Central Apparatus of the SBU.
On February 28, 2014, he was dismissed from the position of First Deputy Head of the SBU by decree of the acting President of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov, and Vladislav Bukharev was appointed as his successor.
On November 4, 2014, he was retired by decree of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. 'Release Colonel General Sergei Petrovich Schwarzes from military service in retirement from the Security Service of Ukraine in connection with organizational measures with the right to wear a military uniform,' the decree states.
