Bogdan Mikhailovich Danilishin - Minister of Economic Development of Ukraine (2007-2010), Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (2016-2023).
Place of Birth. Education. Born on June 6, 1963, in the Dolinsky district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 1982, he graduated from the Ternopil State Pedagogical Institute, postgraduate studies (Institute for Regional Economic Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) in the field of economics (1991), postgraduate studies (Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) in the field of regional economics, development of productive forces (1997). Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Political Career. Before his appointment as Minister of Economic Development in Yulia Tymoshenko's Cabinet on December 18, 2007, he was the head of the Council for the Study of Productive Forces of Ukraine at the National Academy of Sciences. He was appointed to the government as a representative of Yulia Tymoshenko's bloc, which was transferred to the executive authorities after the formation of a democratic coalition with the Bloco Nosha Ukrayina - Narodna Samooborona. He lost his position due to the resignation of the government after Viktor Yanukovych's victory in the presidential elections.
In August 2010, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine launched a criminal case against Danilishin. He was accused of causing damages worth millions to the state. In particular, according to law enforcement agencies, damages of 4.5 million UAH were caused when the procurement procedure at the International Airport 'Boryspil' was agreed with a single bidder. The former minister was wanted worldwide and was detained in the Czech Republic, where he applied for political asylum. On January 13, 2011, the Czech Ministry of Interior granted his request. On January 14, Bogdan Danilishin was released at the order of the Prague City Council.
In May 2011, Bogdan Danilishin was appointed head of an international non-governmental organization named 'Ukrainian European Perspective'.
In 2013, he was elected president of the European Institute for Economic and Political Research for the Development of Countries in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Ukraine (Prague).
On March 1, 2013, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced that on December 12, 2012, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine terminated the criminal case against Bogdan Danilishin due to the absence of elements of a crime and removed him from the international wanted list.

Under Danilishin's scientific leadership, a program for the development of small towns in Ukraine was developed. He was involved in shaping the concept of state regional policy, the general spatial planning of Ukraine, a number of regulatory and legislative acts aimed at developing regions and communities, environmental policy, and natural and technological security.
